Meet Alex Benson, our founder
Day One Padel is one experienced padel operator on your club's side. You work with Alex from the first call to the last report, whether your club is still a plan or already open.

Alex Benson, founder

Alex is a certified Level 3 padel director, with padel experience in the UK, Australia and Indonesia. His padel work has been in the part of a club that decides whether it pays: coaching, events, corporate hire and the community that keeps players coming back.
He started Day One Padel to give owners what he would want in their place: someone who has done the work, looks at the club's own numbers, and stays beside them while things change.
Why Day One Padel
Most padel clubs fill their evenings and struggle with their days. Few owners can see which hours, prices and players are costing them, and fewer have someone beside them who has filled courts before.
Alex set up Day One Padel to be that person: an experienced padel operator's eye on your club's own numbers, and a hand in the moves that fill the courts. For a club not open yet, it means getting right before opening day the things that are hardest to fix afterwards: the coaches, the prices, the programme and the first players.
What Alex has done in padel
Five years in padel clubs, in Indonesia, Australia and the UK.
- Opening clubsAlex has helped open padel clubs in the UK and Australia, Canberra Racquet Club among them: the opening party, the logistics, the first booking window, and the whole path that takes a player from hearing about a new club to booking their first game.
- Coaching and the weekly programmeAcross a group of UK clubs he found the coaches, built the coaching calendar, negotiated coaching rates and priced each session by what it is worth. He set one timetable of evening and afternoon socials, Americanos and weekend sessions across every club, and added LTA tournaments for the competitive players.
- Corporate bookingsHe built a corporate channel for a group of UK clubs that brings companies into the quiet daytime hours. In Canberra, as the club’s assistant manager, he ran its corporate events: government teams first, then insurers, estate agents and team building days, up to a 250 person full club hire.
- CommunityWorking with IndoPadel, one of Bali’s first padel clubs, he helped build the club’s atmosphere and its community guidelines, with Americanos and team events. He brings that energy to every event, working to the owner’s vision or to his own tried day plan.
I treat every club I work with as if it were my own. Your vision, my focus, until the courts are full.

How Alex works with your club
It starts with a conversation: a free call, or the free club diagnostic, which Alex reads and follows up himself.
Then Alex works with you every month on Advisory, or on the Opening, a project with a set length and a written list of what he will do. Every move is agreed with you and measured from your own bookings. He leads every Opening himself, from the first plan to opening day and through the first six months.
Day One Padel is Alex with our own software: the software does the counting, so every call starts from your club's numbers.
Where we work
With clubs in the UK, Australia and beyond, mostly by video call at times that suit you and your manager. Club visits are set out in each proposal.
Your data
Your club's data is stored in London, sealed off from every other club, and never used to train AI.
